On 19th November 2024, Mr. Sudhir Pal Sabharwal, President of Center of Russian Geographical Society in India Congratulated Citizens of Shri Lanka for opening of Center of Russian Geographical Society in Shri Lanka. In a momentous event that highlighted the spirit of international collaboration, Mr. Sudhir Pal Sabharwal delivered an inspiring speech celebrating the strengthening of ties between India, Sri Lanka, and Russia. Speaking for the inauguration of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Sri Lanka, he emphasized the importance of this new initiative in fostering mutual cooperation and cultural exchange in South Asia. Mr. Sabharwal lauded the agreement signed between the India Russia Foundation, the Sri Lanka-Russia Friendship Society, and the Russian Association for International Cooperation. He congratulated Sri Lanka on the opening of the Center and expressed admiration for the country’s role in facilitating this significant partnership. He also acknowledged the centenary celebrations of the Russian Association for International Cooperation, marking a historic milestone in Russia’s international outreach. In his address, Mr. Sabharwal highlighted the diverse areas where collaboration would thrive through this initiative, including economy, trade, science, culture, education, humanities, sports, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. “This effort will enhance the traditional, friendly, and cooperative relations between the people of Sri Lanka, India, and Russia,” he remarked.
Mr. Sabharwal extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Board of Trustees, Chairman, President, and Secretary General of the Center of the Russian Geographical Society in Sri Lanka.
