Center of the Russian Geographical Society opened on 6th November 2024 in India.
The initiator of the Creation of the Center is Mr. Sudhir Pal Sabharwal. Having experience of more than 30 Years, has been actively involved in the development of Russian-Indian Relations in Business and Culture. This newly opened Center of the Russian Geographical Society in India will help create new opportunities for Indians who love Russia and geography and want to implement their ideas with the organizational and academic support of the RGS.

The Guests of the Opening Ceremony were welcomed by the Chairman of the Center of Russian Geographical Society in India, Shri Bhubaneswar Kalita (Vice Chairman, Rajya Sabha) and Secretary General Mr. Harish Chopra.


Mr. Vladmir Polozkov, Mr. Fedor Rozovoskii, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Karan Singh , former Defense Secretary Mr. Shekhar Dutt, Dr. Rajesh Mehta, Mr. Harish Chopra , Mr. Vishwas Tripathi and Mr. Sudhir Pal Sabharwal lit the Traditional Lamp, highlighting the Opening of the Center of Russian Geographical Society in India.




The Function started with a heartfelt National Anthem of India and Russia, which ignited a spark of happiness and patriotism in hearts of invitees of both the country.

Cake Cutting Ceremony was held and (left to right) Mr. Ilya Gurov, Shri Bhubaneswar Kalita, Mr. Shekhar Dutt, H.E. Denis Alipov, Mr. Vladmir Polozkov and Mr. Sudhir Pal Sabharwal cut the Cake.


Amongst the Invitees the Speakers were by Dr. Karan Singh, H.E. Denis Alipov, Shri Bhubaneswar Kalita, Mr. Ilya Gurov, Mr. Shekhar Dutt, Mr. Vishwas Tripathi and Dr. Rajesh Mehta.







At Last, Special Dance Depicting Lord Shiva as Natraj was presented by graceful dancers.
